CARE:
Membership in the buying club, CARE, is required by Meadowbreeze Farm, which is a farmer member of the group. CARE stands for Community Alliance for Responsible Ecofarming. It's an overseeing group that has 31 member farms. The agreements are a method of making the farm to consumer sales a private affair, rather than public sales like in a store. The agreements are available on the order form. The annual fee is $20 paid directly to CARE when mailing in the agreements.

Farm info: Meadowbreeze Farm is owned by an old order Amish family, the Zooks. They have been delivering food into Maryland, DC and Virginia for close to 10 years. The farm is in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The pork and grass fed beef are raised on their own 100 acre farm, and the chickens and delicious eggs are raised by neighboring farmers according to the Zooks' specifications -- they are free range chickens. The farm used to be certified organic but they dropped it because of the expense, but the practices have remained the same.

The prepared foods are for the most part local, for example the sauerkraut, the pickled beets, the breads, the beef stew and chili are all made locally of mostly locally grown ingredients at nearby small businesses. The cream is very thick and delicious; the lard is prized by many. The butter is a deep color and while it has a strong taste, many people appreciate its quality.

Ordering:
Farmorders.com offers the convenience of online ordering. There's a $25 minimum order, but no need to order every time. Prices and availability subject to change without notice.

Email confirmations:
When your order is placed, you will receive an email confirming our receipt of your order. Each time you change the order, a new confirmation email will be sent.

Shipping and PIcking Up:
All Farmorders.com orders are shipped by refrigerated truck. Each site has a pickup window during which all orders should be retrieved and paid for. It is your choice when to pick up, but please remember that you are responsible for the food once it has been delivered. The payment is still due, even if you forget to pick up and the food sits out and spoils. In case of emergency, please arrange for someone to pick your food up for you. if you have any questions on your order status, contact us by email at farmorders@comcast.net.

Payment methods:
Meadowbreeze Farm only accepts payments by check. Farmorders.com's main goal is to provide the farm the opportunity to sell products online for little overhead. One of the ways we do this is by not accepting credit cards or paypal. We are sorry for this inconvenience, but we feel that it is the most efficient way to receive funds. If you happen to forget your checkbook, please email farmorders for the mailing address when you get home.

Credit needed?
Open a new order form and put a "1" next to Credit Needed (under "Miscellaneous"). Then explain in the Special Comments section at the bottom.
